Why Zirconium?

"Z" in the controller name refers to the use of Zirconium as the material providing surface protection to the 1st stage brass body.

Atomic has developed a special brass-chrome-Zirconium plating process to provide 3-4 times greater corrosion resistance than conventional chrome plating. The lever, spring and saddle pressure limiter in the Z2/Z2x second stage are of course made of titanium. Atomic = performance + economy Affordability does not mean a reduction in quality. The Z2/Z2x is our most compact and economical controller. However, it still remains an exceptional combination of performance, ergonomics and materials unmatched by any competitor in any price range. The Z2/Z2x comes with a limited lifetime warranty, just like our other models.

• The first stage is made of chrome plated brass and 316 grade stainless steel
• First stage with high flow piston and Jet Seat technology
• Freezing protection implemented by separating the medium pressure chamber from the external environment also prevents the ingress of dirt or sand to sensitive parts
• Nitrox ready for mixtures up to 40% oxygen
• First stage outputs: 2 HP fixed / 7 LP on fixed head

• Second stage components are machined from Zirconium plated brass and Titanium
• Z2 has a standard hose, the Z2x model has a comfort hose (Atomic Comfort Swivel)

• Infinitely adjustable inspiratory resistance to reduce controller sensitivity in special situations

• Second stage cover made from a combination of plastics allowing easy operation of the shower
