Differences in the first stages of diving regulators are most often in the material used, the number and location of medium and high pressure outlets and the shape. You should also think about the conditions in which you will be diving most often with the regulator; different first stages are designed for warm and cold water. You should always choose the first stage of your regulator with the manufacturer of the second stage in mind, this is the only way to ensure full compatibility.
