The SS1 is a fresh innovation of a classic concept. While others prioritize the convenience of such a combination, Atomic also emphasizes top-notch materials, reliability and natural breathing with high performance.

The SS1 back-up regulator delivers large amounts of gas at depth with minimal effort. It is very stable and is not prone to unwanted free-flow or underflow due to a strong current or when entering water. The BCD inflation and deflation controls can be comfortably operated with one hand as they are made of soft and non-slip material. The SS1 is constructed with the highest quality materials that you will not find in any other backup stage of this type on the market. The quick coupler, valve body and controls are made of Titanium to prevent oxidation that could potentially affect the components or impair performance or functionality. The valve and automatic lever are made of Titanium to guarantee maximum rigidity and durability.

One of the most unique features of the SS1 is its ability to adapt to virtually any type of BCD. We have created a set of adapters compatible with most popular BCDs of various brands (and even lesser known ones). The adapters also include the components necessary to connect the redundancy cable to your BCD (if this feature is present). The SS1 can be disconnected not only from the medium pressure hose, but also from the wrap hose. The adapter connecting the SS1 to the BCD is threaded to allow the SS1 to be easily disconnected and stored with your controller and instruments. The SS1 allows for pneumatic or oral inflation and is also your backup gas source, all in a compact package.

• Ergonomic Controls. The oversized, ergonomically shaped buttons are easy to operate for both pneumatic and oral inflation/deflation. They are easily recognizable and their surface is coated with soft rubber. 
• Low-profile elliptical design. The elliptical body of the SS1 fits the hydrodynamic profile of the BCD, doesn't get stuck anywhere and reduces the possibility of entrapment.

• Patented SSO (saddle pressure limiter) technology. Wear and tear on the medium pressure seat is the most common reason for regulator leakage and the reason for reduced automation performance. The stainless steel seat is only in contact with the flexible sealing member when the system is pressurized, so there is no wear. 
• Titanium lever. This high-strength component that connects you to the air supply is absolutely corrosion resistant. 
• Cover = shower button. The front cover, made from a single piece of flexible plastic, controls the shower wherever you press it.
