The Atomic Aquatics SubFrame mask is so durable that we can afford to provide a lifetime warranty on frame damage. The strength comes from the use of an internal frame (subframe) embedded just below the surface of the silicone cheekpiece to which it is bonded (patented). This internal frame provides the mask with amazing strength and rigidity, plus it eliminates the need for the bulky and unsightly plasik frame used on conventional masks. A stainless steel cap secures the glass and increases the strength of the bridge in the center of the mask.A wide field of view and great ergonomics complete this combination of function, style and durability. UltraClear

All types of Atomic masks - Frameless, Frameless 2 and SubFrame use glasses that define a new standard of vision, unavailable with conventional masks. We call this technology UltraClear lenses. What is so unusual about UltraClear glasses? Have you ever noticed that the glass of a regular mask has a green tint? See for yourself - place your mask on a sheet of white paper and look closely. The green tint you see is due to the iron impurities in the float or "window" glass from which the mask is made. This green tint distorts the natural colors and prevents some of the incident light from reaching the eye. UltraClear is a new type of glass of superior optical quality with exceptional clarity and transparency without color distortion. The extraordinary transmittance and lack of distortion of UltraClear glass maximizes the amount of light passing through, which enhances sharpness, especially in degraded light conditions underwater.

Accessories for the SubFrame model. Quality dioptric glasses are available from -1.0 to -8.0 in 0.5 diopter increments. The mask with dioptric lenses must be assembled by the manufacturer or an authorized service center.

Atomic Subframe masks are available in Standard and Medium sizes. The Medium size has a narrower cheekpiece suitable for smaller faces. The mask in the Medium size is otherwise identical to the standard model. Both versions of the SubFrame mask come standard with high quality UltraClear optical lenses.
